Designed specifically for factory production fitted X1/9-style brass lockrings securing rear Fiat X1/9 5-Spd wheel bearings.
Note: Not applicable to 4-Spd Fiat X1/9, 128, and Yugo which have smaller bearings and retainer rings.
(and not for use on Lancia-style rear retainer rings which are identical except for location of their ring removal slots.)
Proper usage of this tool avoids harm to bearing hubs and prevents destruction of brass retainer rings that lock in wheel bearings.
Without this tool, the bearings' retaining rings suffer under removal attempts using common hand tools that usually waste hours of frustration and often harm carrier components.
For years, Fiat and Lancia owners have been forced to remove their retainer rings using hand tools.
