Cylinder Heads

Midwest Bayless are specialists in SOHC engine cylinder heads for the X19, 128, and Strada.  We can offer just about any variation of stock, performance, or racing head you want.  From good used, refurbished plain, or fully assembled, ready-to-bolt on, we can help you out.

Below are explainations of our cylinder head naming conventions to help when browing our offers:

• Performance Cylinder Head Assy :  A modified peformance cylinder head, fully assembled with higher duration camshaft and cam-tower.  Milling for a compression increase is a standard procedure, with porting and polishing of the runners as an option. Ready to bolt onto your engine.
  
• Performance Cylinder Head :  A modified performance cylinder head with valves and springs only. Milling for a compression increase is a standard procedure, with porting and polishing of the runners as an option. You will need to supply and assemble the camshaft, cam tower and set the valve clearances.
  
• Cylinder Head Assy :  A reconditioned stock cylinder head fully assembled with stock camshaft and cam-tower.  Ready to bolt onto the engine.
  
• Cylinder Head :  A reconditioned stock cylinder head with valves and valve springs only.  You will need to supply and assemble the camshaft, cam tower and set valve clearances.

In most cases, Midwest-Bayless has core cylinder heads available for use and will issue a $150 core charge for your used and serviceable head.  In certain situations, we may require your original cylinder head to begin the process, in which case, a core charge is not assessed.
